Australia
We went to Australia in January, 2016. We had good reason to go, our friends, Adrian and Christina's wedding!!! We met Adrian and Christina on a Contiki Turkey/Greece trip, where they also met each other there and fell in love on the trip! You can read their story here. We loved being apart of the very beginning stages of their relationship and joked with them that if they got married, we would come to their wedding! Sure enough, they not only got married, but we all became life long friends!!
Australia was a trek for us, 36 hours of travel time! Dylan was only 18 months, but we were shocked how great he did the entire trip! You can read my tips for flying with toddlers here. Since we were going that far anyway, we decided to stop in New Zealand as well; so we flew to Sydney, then to Auckland, and then to the Gold Coast (for the wedding!).
We love Australia for the beaches, laid-back style, amazing views, best accents, and exotic wildlife (I got to hold a koala and Dylan fed kangaroos!!!).
