Date Night: Romance Package at the Reikart House
Boutique Hotel: The
Reikart House in Williamsville
Our life has been crazy the past few months, between moving
and selling our house, DIYs: painting, ripping out carpet, taking down
wallpaper, etc; pregnant sleepless nights, TODDLERS, spills & crumbs at every
meal, unlimited laundry and dishes, the list goes on. And I know I’m not alone. We are all SO busy in every season of
life. We all need a break at some point.
Why We Love a Staycation
in our Very Own Town:
One thing I really appreciate about Matt is that he always
pushes for these date overnights. He
knows we both need time away to relax and feel refreshed so we can go home and
be better parents- parents who aren’t burnt out from the daily grind of life.
The Reikart House gave us exactly that. We dropped the boys off at their
grandparents’ and drove the 2.5 miles from our home to the gorgeous Reikart
House. Sometimes “travel” for us means
just getting out of our own home and sleeping someplace different. Away from the laundry, the dishes, the wallpaper
that I so desperately want to remove. I
feel soo much more at ease out of my house because I physically cannot do anything
on my “to do” list, so it forces me to relax.
Romance Package at
the Reikart House:
We booked the romance package which included a cheese &
fruit plate, chocolate covered strawberries, and sparkling wine for us to enjoy
in our room. And our suite, complete
with a fireplace and rose petals on our bed, definitely set the mood for a
romantic evening. We were so impressed
with the unique detail everywhere.
Nothing about the Reikart House felt like your typical box hotel… the
mix of old and new décor, handcrafted furnishings, the intricate detail
throughout the architecture and design.
Our room was decorated with the most beautiful old photographs of the
Reikart family and other decorations that represented them. You could tell that so much thought went into
each piece of décor to model after the famous Buffalo family. We were so impressed.
Dining at the Reikart
House:
For dinner, we stayed right at the Reikart for the most
amazing meal. Matt ordered the Chef’s
sustainable seafood of the day: seared ahi tuna and scallops and I chose the
Vegetable Napoleon: marinated squash, zucchini and eggplant stack, basil,
pesto, and balsamic reduction. The food
was delectable! We LOVED the staff,
everyone was so welcoming and attentive to our every need.
The next morning, I enjoyed an a la cart made to order
omelet and Matt ordered their Saturday special including frittata with bacon
and greens, Icelandic yogurt and fruit, and banana bread with whipped
butter. The atmosphere was so calming
with the fire lit and it felt nice to just sit and talk without interruption!
Reikart Huse is in the process of building a full restaurant addition, named Jazzboline after the musical instrument Frank and Dolly Reikart (the hotel's namesake) invented, which we are so excited about because the food was amazing and I can see us coming back soon just for a date night fancy dinner!
The Reikart House is a true boutique hotel at its finest. Matt and I have slept in hundreds of hotels
all around the world and the Reikart House definitely stands out to us one of
the most elegant, charming places to stay!
What a treat that it is located in our very own backyard. We definitely plan a return visit to relax
and recharge!
