Buffalo Staycation at the Marriott Harbor Center

Have you visited downtown Buffalo recently? It makes us super excited to see our Queen City growing so much, especially the Canalside area. We got to explore everything last weekend on our adults only staycation at the Buffalo Marriott at LECOM HARBORCENTER! 

Truthfully, we totally could have brought our kids along and I’m sure they would have loved it, but Matt & I know it’s important for us to have time away from our kids and focus on just us. I think having a strong marriage makes us better parents. We highly recommend having a staycation from the kids at least once or twice a year. Trust us, it’s AMAZING! 😉

Hotel With a View 

We were super excited to stay at the popular Marriott Harbor Center (hosted) because we love the Marriott brand and we’ve heard so many amazing things about this hotel in particular. Did you know Marriott Harbor Center is known to be one of the best Marriott's in the entire US? Wow, it makes us so #buffaloproud to hear that. And the hotel did not disappoint. The view, for one, is great.  It was so fun to see our city from up high in our hotel room and the canal leading to Lake Erie was simply beautiful.  Our room was perfect: king sized bed, big bathroom with a walk in shower, huge flat screen tv and a sleek sectional to sit and enjoy a cup of coffee or tea provided in the room. 

Location, Location, Location 

Marriott Harbor Center in located right in the heart of Canalside. Just a few steps away from the Key Bank Center, Sahlen field, and Buffalo’s gorgeous board walk along the water. If you are visiting from out of town, or just don’t feel like driving home after a concert at the Key Bank Center, or a Blue Jays game, the Marriott Harbor Center is the perfect place to stay. 

At the vibrant hotel’s restaurant bar, Panorama on Seven, we met people visiting from out of town: for a fishing trip, to see Niagara Falls for the first time, for a wedding, and on a business trip. We felt proud to share information about our city to out of towners and it was so great to see Buffalo as such a desired tourist attraction.  Buffalo really is America’s best kept  secret and people are starting to discover why it’s so great here. We love that! 

After a restful night sleep, Matt and I enjoyed a leisurely breakfast back at Panorama (available on the weekend). Everything on the menu sounded delicious but we couldn’t refuse the Avocado Toast and Buffalo Eggs Benedict. We loved looking out the restaurant’s wall to wall windows- watching exercise classes at Canalside, boats along the water, and bike groups riding below.  It truly was such a fun experience for us!! 

Whether visiting from near or far, the Marriott Harbor Center is the perfect downtown location for anyone wanting a getaway to explore all that Buffalo has to offer.  And, if you are in a similar season of life as us, you know how amazing it is to have a small break from everything toddler. Matt & I have learned that prioritizing time away from our kids helps us feel refreshed when we get back into the thick of parenting.  Staying at Marriott Harbor Center did just that!
