Our Belize Adventure: Where All We Needed Was Our Hopper Island Swimwear
There are two types of packers: the ones who bring everything but the kitchen sink and the ones who think they can survive a week with one carry-on for the whole family on our trip to Chabil Mar in Belize, I was determined to keep it simple— but I assumed we would all need an outfit per day for four days, so I packed four of everything for each kid. But as it turns out, all I really needed to pack was our Hopper Island swimwear. Seriously, we lived in those bathing suits from sunrise to sunset and they dried so fast it was one of those rinse and repeat situations all four days!
Before the trip, I really wanted everyone in the family to have a swimsuit upgrade, the boys were in desperate need of new swim shirts and Matt didn’t even own one. Our skin has all gone pale since summer ended and everyone needed good sun protection while in the water. Hopper Island was the perfect choice. The quality is next-level. The boys were obsessed with their swim shirts, and I loved the peace of mind knowing they were protected from the sun while snorkeling in the reef. No burns, no complaints—just endless underwater adventures while my daughter and I enjoyed making sand mermaids and lounging in the beach chairs.
And can we talk about the colors and prints? My daughter was over the moon about her floral print suits. So vibrant! In fact, I was impressed to learn that the founders of Hopper Island were inspired through their own person travels by the natural beauty of the Caribbean—the rich blues of the ocean, the vivid colors of tropical birds, and the stunning amber sunsets. Their travels sparked the idea to create resort wear that reflects this beauty, blending artistry and functionality. Each print begins as a hand-painted design, ensuring every piece feels unique and vibrant.
Beyond creating stylish swimwear, the founders are committed to eco-friendly practices, producing their garments in a solar-powered, family-owned workshop in Colombia. They’ve built a brand that not only celebrates nature’s beauty but also gives back by supporting local women and promoting sustainable fashion. Now this is a brand we can get behind.
If you are planning a family trip, trust me—pack light and invest in good swimwear. Hopper Island has you covered, literally.
