Your Fall/Winter Couples Getaway at the Sunflower House

Last weekend we snuck away to Olcott, New York for a quick getaway and it was just what we needed!

We stayed at our friends Josh & Emilee’s new cozy little cottage right on Lake Ontario affectionately named: The Sunflower Home. They updated the whole place over the summer and it is the ideal place for a couples getaway this winter! The house has an adorable master bedroom complete with a king sized bed and big windows that give you the best morning view of the pink sky over the lake.  We could see the water right out our bedroom window even while lying in bed, it’s dreamy.  I loved all the decorations throughout the cottage, Emilee does a fantastic job incorporating vintage furniture with new styles and luxury.  The living space is complete with a fireplace, brand new sectional, and a flat screen TV with more channels I knew existed.

  

In the evening, we started a fire at the fire pit outside overlooking the lake while enjoying a glass of wine and watching the sun set slowly.  Closer to the house is the most perfect little hot tub for two. I love soaking in a hot tubs on a cold nights, and I’m so happy Josh and Emilee decided to add one to the Sunflower Home for couples to enjoy on those chilly western New York nights.  And there’s something about hearing the waves, seeing the lights of Toronto across the water, yet feeling so removed from the busyness of our day to day life that makes a hot tub so relaxing!
